Telling the Spanish language TV show that twins will mean double the excitement, Lopez exclaims how great of a mother his 38-year old daughter will be. "I'm very proud. Jennifer has yearned to be a mother for many years." And due to the Puerto Rican culture, Lopez says that he has already bought gifts for his grandchildren, azabache (black stone) bracelets to protect them from the evil eye.

Two months after announcing her pregnancy at a Miami concert November 7, Jennifer Lopez — who is seven months along with twins — opens up to Harper’s Bazaar in her first interview since sharing the happy news. “I do realize people want to know [about the pregnancy] because they’re interested, but this is the first time I’m going through this,” Lopez, 38, says of staying mum for so long. “I kind of feel like everybody knew anyway.” So why the secrecy? The singer says husband Marc Anthony, 39, was a factor. “He made me realize you can be an artist, and have credibility and success, without your life being on public display,” she says. “This is my experience and my husband’s experience, and we get to hold that for a little while.” As for how her little ones will handle the media scrutiny, the star insists her kids “will be whatever we are. . . . Private when it comes to that stuff.” Post birth, Lopez is still unsure of whether she’ll be a working mom. “I don’t know — and I like that, because my life has been so planned for so many years,” she reveals. “Once I did the tour, I really just wanted to shut it down.” For now, the singer is following that instinct. “Jennifer’s taking it easy,” a pal says. “She’s just thrilled to have the babies coming.”

After weeks of speculation, Jennifer Lopez finally publicly confirmed her pregnancy Wednesday night during a Miami stop on her El Cantante tour. "Marc and I are expecting a baby!" the glowing singer announced to the audience. Anthony, also onstage, shrugged then leaned over and kissed her belly. "I did not expect her to say anything," he told the crowd. Lopez thanked the audience for the applause and said, "We are happy, too." She then turned sideways to reveal her profile and show off her very obvious baby bump. "This is a special time in our lives," she she said. "And we waited until the last show to tell you."

The singer has reportedly been getting letters from animal-rights activists threatening "to kill her in public, just like the slaughtered animals whose fur she wears." According to a source, Lopez initially ignored the letters, dismissing them as crazy junk mail, but husband Marc Anthony is taking the threats more seriously. "He has hired two off-duty police officers, in addition to her usual security team, to watch over Lopez whenever she makes public appearances," says the source. Marc Anthony may have been paying too much attention to wife Jennifer Lopez - and not enough to his taxes. The Latin crooner has agreed to pay nearly $2.5 million in back taxes after failing to file returns on nearly $15.5 million in income over a five-year period. Anthony was not personally named as having committed tax fraud, but three of his companies are involved. Two of the singer's managers have pleaded guilty to various offenses, but Anthony avoided prosecution as he was apparently unaware that his taxes were not paid between 2000 and 2004. Lopez was not involved in the investigation and she and Anthony do not file their taxes together.

Jennifer Lopez is continuing her foray into the world of television with a five-hour musical miniseries. The project, "La Flor Palida," will feature music from Lopez's new Spanish-language album and is set to begin production in Mexico City in May. "She had an idea to create a miniseries in the old grand style of things like The Thorn Birds, but using the words in the music to drive the narrative," said the singer's manager. "There are some autobiographical elements," he added of the story, which revolves around a movie star who is constantly in the public eye. "[The lead character] gets caught in a scandal and ends up running from her boyfriend and meeting up with an old friend from her past." Lopez, whose Dance Life reality show aired on MTV earlier this year, will not act in the project, but will sing a song from her album at the end of each episode.

We want to be the best person we can be for each other. And we work on that. That's what a real relationship is about to me... I'm going to get back to what originally drew me to expressing myself as a creative person." Jennifer Lopez took a break from her promo tour today to report for jury duty at the Beverly Hills courthouse. Lopez reportedly spent most of the day text messaging friends in the jury room. The court case was resolved by 2:30 Monday afternoon, and all prospective jurors - JLo included - were free to go.
Hispanic fans of Jennifer Lopez are unhappy with the singer after she reportedly refused to promote her new Spanish-language album in Ritmo Latino stores, the largest Latino music chain. Ritmo Latino is permanently removing JLo's music from their shelves in all 50 U.S. stores after the singer "refused personally to promote her new CD in any of our stores," said the chain's president. "We've supported her from the beginning. Now we're told by her record company she will only visit Anglo retail outlets." Lopez made an appearance at an "Anglo" F.Y.E. store in the Bronx on Wednesday.
