Sexy Gowns at the 82nd Academy Awards 2010

The fashion scene on the red carpet was subdued this year with no outrageous or unique outfits appearing on the red carpet.

Although, the fashion looks were subdued, there were still many glamorous gowns gracing the red carpet.

The 82nd Academy Awards also played out in a most unusual manner this year, with the lowest grossing, limited addition film - The Hurt Locker beating the highest grossing movie Avatar.

Even more ironic, both directors - Kathryn Bigelow of The Hurt Locker and James Cameron of Avatar were formerly married.

Kathryn Bigelow wore a titanium silk satin gown with embroidered bodice from Yves Saint Laurent with earnings and bracelet by Boucheron.

She also wore silver sandals by Yves Saint Laurent and a titanium satin clutch also by Yves Saint Laurent.

Oh, an Kathryn Bigelow also became the first woman director to receive an Oscar for directing.

Even more ironic, Sandra Bullock winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for her role in The Blind Side, also earned the worst-actress trophy the Razzie for her performance in All About Steve.

Sandra Bullock wore an embroidered lace and silvery metallic Marchesa gown on the red carpet, which served as a fitting background to her golden Oscar.

She even appeared at the Razzie awards in person to accept the award, which made her the first actress in a number of years to accept the Razzie award in person.

Cyrus was recently photographed wearing a black pair of side ripped leggings with oval openings running up the side of the leggings from the ankle up to the thigh.

She toped off the look with a white tee shirt with an opened front blue and white flannel pattern shirt worn as a jacket.

Supporting the outfit were a pair of black ankle boots with low heels.

Yes, it looks like Miley Cyrus is creating her own sexy fashion statement.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday that Miley Cyrus would be among the presenters at the 82nd Academy Awards.

Cyrus will join other youthful presenters at the Oscars including Zac Efron, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

The 82nd Academy Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, March 7, 2010 on the ABC television network in the states.

The show will air at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific time.

Miley Cyrus Leads Nickelodeon 2010 Kids' Choice Awards

Miley Cyrus leads Nickelodeon 2010 Kids' Choice Awards picks with nominations in four categories. including Favorite TV Actress, Favorite Female Singer, Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Song.

She will compete against Miranda Cosgrove, Keke Palmer, and Selena Gomez for the Favorite TV Actress spot.

In the Favorite Female Singer category, she will be competing against Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift.

In the Favorite Movie Actress category, she will be competing against Sandra Bullock, Megan Fox, and Zoe Saldana.

Her song Party in the USA has also been nominated in the Favorite Song category.

The 2010 Kids Choice Awards will be aired live on Saturday, March 27, 2010 on Nickelodeon cable channel in the states.

And the Oscar Co-Hosts Are ...

The producers of the Academy Awards have announced that Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will serve as co-hosts of the 82nd Academy Awards.

“I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin,” said Martin. “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Baldwin.

Martin hosted the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards shows, earning an Emmy nomination for the first stint. He has also served as a presenter on the show several times, most recently at the ceremony in February when he appeared with Tina Fey. He is currently touring with the bluegrass band Steep Canyon Rangers in support of his latest album The Crow: New Songs for the Five String Banjo. In 1977 and 1978 Martin won Grammys for Best Comedy Recording. He earned a third Grammy in 2001 in the Best Country Instrumental Performance category. In 2007 Martin earned a Kennedy Center Honor.

Baldwin was nominated for an Academy Award in 2003 for his supporting role in The Cooler. That year also marked his most recent appearance as a presenter on the show. Baldwin currently stars as Jack Donaghy on the comedy 30 Rock, a role for which he has won two Emmys (in 2008 and 2009).

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2009 will be presented on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live by the ABC .

Her makeup was flawless, especially her eyebrows that really brought out her eyes and her long wavy hairdo.

In a gown befitting a bride or a fairly tail princess, Sarah Jessica Parker wore a very sexy Christian Dior Haute Couture strapless gown with layers of material gathered at the waist.

The silk tulle corset bustier featured beaded embroidery enhancing Parker's cleavage, a ture OMG moment.

Best Supporting Actress winner Penelope Cruz wore a stunning vintage Pierre Balmain gown.

Kristin Chenoweth wore a beautiful brown lace strapless gown by Armani Prive with shoes by Christian Louboutin and jewelry by Tiffany & Co.

Nicole Kidman

Kristin Chenoweth performed the Oscar nominated best original song "That's How You Know" from the motion picture Enchanted.

A pregnant Nicole Kidman and country star Keith Urban arrived on the red carpet together. The couple is expecting their baby in July.

Nicole Kidman wore a black Balenciaga dress that concealed her baby bump.

Crowning Nicole Kidman gown was a diamond sautoir necklace designed by L'Wren Scott which contained a total of 7,645 diamonds, including rough, faceted, and polished diamonds which total nearly 1,400 carats.

The necklace certainly drew attention away from her baby bump.

Daniel Day-Lewis, who won the Oscar for Best Actor for the movie There will be Blood, wife Rebeca Miller also wore a black gown on the red carpet.

The gown had a very royal look to it, sort of the over powering look that a queen from a Disney movie may possess or perhaps the regal empress presiding over Project Runway.

She choose a bright red Valentino chiffon gown with bow detail and a bronze lizard clutch with Swarovski crystals by Mary Norton and shoes from Sergio Rossi.

First time Academy Awards nominee, actress Marion Cotillard won the Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of the role of Edith Piaf, the legendary French singer who rose to international fame from her beginnings on the streets of Paris in the movie La Vie En Rose.

If there were a category for best gown on the red carpet, surely she would have won in that category also.

Marion Cotillard mermaid inspired designer gown was created by Jean Paul Gaultier and featured fabric shaped into white scale patterns.

The gown was gathered at the knee and flared into a fish tail like base.

This technique, we noted, was used in Rihanna green dress that she wore to the World Music Awards.

Marion Cotillard jewelry by Chopard included a champagne necklace layered with brown diamond bead necklaces and a square cut yellow diamond ring.

Designer Jean Paul Gaultier is famous for having created the famous breast cones worn by Madonna in 1984 and the cage dress worn by Grace Jones at the height of her notoriety
